Getting Started

Welcome!

Here is what you will experience in this pathway:

As a Christian, our goal is to walk with you through regular teaching, practices, and relational growth with Jesus that will propel you outward with the Gospel. This pathway is designed to be a guide through our resources in a way that we at Organic Outreach believe will be most effective.

A few things that we want to establish as you begin this journey:

#1. Spiritual maturity is ultimately the work of the Holy Spirit, and spiritual disciplines such as disciple-making, are a response to our salvation, which is the prerequisite to growth in these areas. When it comes to spiritual maturity, we are seeking growth, not perfection.

#2. We use several terms to describe a lifestyle of witness: evangelism, outreach, sharing the Good News, making disciples, Organic Outreach, and so on. These are different sides of the same coin with perhaps some nuance in context, but ultimately the same goal. Our desire is to see disciples of Jesus leading others to become disciples of Him as well.

#3. One of our core beliefs is the idea that regular infusion (more on that word later) is necessary to sustain the practice of disciple-making. This journey will be most effective and sustainable the more you are committed to a rhythm of exposing yourself to inspiration, accountability, learning, and planning.

Here is what you can expect from this pathway:

You will begin each checkpoint with a prayer prompt. Our desire is for you to walk with the Spirit and allow your heart to be transformed through this process by communion with God and obedience to the Scriptures. Take the time to pause and use this prompt to align your heart with the Lord.

Next, each of the checkpoints that you work through will contain 4 infusions.

-Inspiration

-Accountability

-Learning

-Planning

Each time you enter a new checkpoint you will find all four of these elements.
Inspiration is meant to be an encouragement and to fire you up as you continue taking steps forward.

The accountability element will help you to self-evaluate your growth, stay committed, and even challenge you to invite a fellow believer to ask you how you are moving forward in this area of spiritual maturity.

The learning infusion will contain biblical teaching on ways that we as Christians can better understand the Gospel and our role in bringing God’s kingdom here on earth as it is in heaven.

In the planning element, you will find practical tools and exercises to help you grow as you begin living a lifestyle of natural evangelism.

This only works if you determine that you want to be joyfully and consistently obedient to this spiritual discipline. We are going to teach, encourage, and challenge you. You will be given practices to go out and try in your everyday life. Go with the power and joy of the Gospel and remember, as Paul said to the Romans, “I am not ashamed of the gospel. Because it is the power of God for Salvation!”

These checkpoints are designed to be covered in 10-20 minutes each. Then we encourage you to spend a week or two practicing and exercising the principles that you learn. Please do not rush to the next checkpoint as this type of growth requires time and effort. We look forward to growing with you on this journey!
